Moving kinda took up all my free time during my paleo diet time, so I didn’t write about it yet. Now that most of the moving and organizing is done, I can write about my experience.
My experience on the Paleo diet
At times I was super proud of myself, other times, I felt incredibly guilty for eating some foods. Overall, trying a paleo diet was a good experience. I definitely learned some more self control. I didn’t have to eat all the snacks and treats my coworkers brought into the office. I didn’t have to drink every night. I ate better foods. I had an even amount of energy and I was happy all the time. The down parts were the fights in my head about weather or not to eat something. The amount of time it took to get food ready. The looks I got from my husband. But in the end, it was all worth it. I would probably try it again, but I do plan on trying to eat a more paleo oriented diet.
Although, I didn’t do the full 30 days of a paleo, it ended up being about 27-28 days instead. I lost track. I did cheat a couple of meals and drinks, but got right back on the next day. In the end I lost 8 lbs (and have since gained back 4 lbs since being off the diet. I blame Super Bowl Sunday). I am getting my weight back down. This week I started my swimming for fitness class and weight lifting class. I think that the combination of being more conscience of my eating habits and these classes will help me get to my ultimate goal weight. I even got my husband asking to go back on the diet because he ended up loosing some weight too. Not that he was as strict, but he ate mostly the same kind of foods as me.
I hope to be more devoted to this blog in the near future since things are slowing down at home. I really want to get this going. There are so many recipes I want to try. I can’t wait!
Lessons Learned:
- High veggie intake definitely helps drop weight.
- low carb lunches helps to get rid of after lunch grogginess.

I did not keep track of calories or any micro nutirent, but I did not consume any sugar. The whole idea behind the paleo diet is that you don’t have to keep track of your calorie intake because your body is running more efficiently on the high protien and fat you are eating. Not sure how well it is in the long run, but I did loose a little weight during the time I tried it. But the best thing I took from the diet was the lower sugar intake and the high vegetable and fruit intake.
